Abstract
Functionality of the sacred art is analyzed. Its ability to carry out the functions that have an immediate impact on the believer is determined. It is proved that the peculiarity of sacred art works is strengthening within their artistic images, religious context that dominates over the aesthetic aspect. It is noted that the effect of extrapolation of religious statements is contributed by aesthetic aspects of sacred art works associated with features of beauty, in particular, harmony, proportion, symmetry, consonance as well as allegory, emotional intensity, consistency and complexity. The implementation of the said above is done due to multi functionality of the sacred art.
