Abstract
In the article there is investigated the “methodological anarchism” of P. Feyerabend who argued against the idea of “prescriptive method” or the “prescriptive type of rationality” and formulated a new approach to the logic of science development. Unlike the previous methodological approach, there was suggested the principle of “anything goes”, which means that there may be a lot of theories and they may be grounded upon various types of rationality. Based on this, Feyerabend postulated the principle of proliferation (multiplying) which is the requirement of constructing of the best possible quantity of theories capable of multiplying. He stands for methodological pluralism and against methodological monism. The necessity of the proliferation principle application is supported with the facts being theoretically relative; however, a theory foresight has never fitted experimental data with absolute accuracy. As a result, science development is made possible through mutual criticizing of the confronting positions.
