Abstract

The article describes the consideration of language problems of John Locke’s philosophy. One of slogans of John Locke’s language philosophy is that it is necessary to fight persistently for the language lucidity, because often language confusion is a source of theoretical disorderliness. John Locke’s language philosophy is inseparably connected with his theory of ideas. According to the conception of John Locke for language interpretation it is necessary to answer the question, that meaning the abstract ideas have. It is examined place and functions of ideas-moduses as one of origin sources of words and language signs. In opinion of Locke every modification of specified thing should have an idea as the original source. Also it is considered abstract ideas, their relation to ideas-moduses, classification qualities and correspondence to the certain language signs.
