Abstract
Current transformations at the global level raise issues related to key categories of modern political life. This particularly concerns the concept of «national interest» that occurs with the modern national state and reflects the characteristics of its operation. But globalization substantially changes attack the sovereignty of nation states, creating a new mode of power (metapower for U. Bek). The actions of metapower do not require public approval of the citizens. At the same time, globalization leads to the world community that enables understand and interpret events and processes from the standpoint of methodological cosmopolitanism. This new perspective of vision must be considered in determining the national interest, adding to the nation-centered interpretation.
