Abstract

The issue of the impact of innovation on the development of decorative applied arts is debatable and requires in-depth professional research, as it is related to the technological progress of mankind. Ukrainian decorative applied art is the expression that shapes the identity of our nation. Innovative progress qualifies as a dangerous phenomenon. Its special danger is manifested in the transformation of the applied decorative space of Ukrainians. The convenience of modern innovative technological solutions moves away from the traditional hereditary way of life and quickly influences a person, forming new values and building a person as a person detached from traditions. Such a person perceives the main values for themselves convenience, manufacturability, mobility of space. It has been studied that globalization gives rise to ambiguous processes: pushing Ukrainian art and the art of other European countries to national identification, directing the search for archetypes of their culture, returning to the national cultural heritage. Important features of modern decorative applied art are simplicity and mobility, optimal use of space and at the same time creating comfort. It is concluded that the visions of neo-traditionalism have affected the creation of things of decorative applied art, which are embodied in a variety of artistic styles and trends, when modern technologies and materials are used. Ethnocultural evolution in interior design and household items has influenced the formation of artistic styles, movements and is consistent with the processes of innovation in technology. Modern decorative applied art is characterized by a combination of modern innovative trends with traditional approaches.
