The article shows that, in contrast to the traditional dilemma of "negative" and "positive" freedom, modern political philosophy seeks to create its meaningful, diverse realistic concept. An important feature of the latter was the expansion of the "right to freedom", the overcoming of its formalized individualistic-liberal and narrowed paternalistic-communicative vision through appealing to "reflective, social" freedom, a new understanding of personal and political freedom. Thus, O. Hoffe, A. Honneth, J. Raz propose to supplement J. Rawls’s principle of equal freedom with a meaningful idea of contextual, sociocultural, moral and ethical principles of freedom with reflections about the price, possibilities, manifestations and limits of freedom. In the article a critical reconstruction and the ways of overcoming the dilemma as an excessive fascination with freedom is proposed, as well as interpretation of it as a source of permanent instability. The author proves that people’s desire of greater freedom inherently connected with general level of its development in a diverse sociocultural landscape and suggests modern new philosophical strategy of freedom, which should realize the new experience of possibility of people’s freedom in the lose contact of manipulations of hybrid wars and economic dependence. Three stages of freedom’s realizations, offered by А. Honneth are investigated and found out that his warnings against social pathology implements in the theses about the excessive passion of the unique model of freedom. In the article it is persuaded the theses of Honneth that the struggle for the personal, political, social freedom can occur only in the frame of a certain legislative principles, which in their turn require promotion and guidance. It is revealed exactly social freedom is formed in the process of communication and implements institutionally in the opportunity of democratic decision. Summarizing the understanding of the problem of freedom in modern philosophy, the author emphasizes the peculiarities of searching in its vast ways of overcoming the various kinds of social injustice, humiliation and neglect of human dignity. This should happen on the basis of understanding the inner potential of the phenomenon of freedom, as a fundamentally important (first of all for the domestic space) the opportunity to reconcile the normative-institutional, legal dimensions with the real desire of people for freedom and justice.</p>}, number={1}, journal={Multiversum.
