The article reveals the essence of the socio-philosophical approach to ethical knowledge in the educational tradition. The unrestrained development of modern civilization leads to crisis situations that threaten the existence of human existence. And this makes it possible to answer eternal questions about the relationship between existing and proper, about the awareness of the actualization of ethics in socio-philosophical thought, in culture, in education. At the same time, theorizing and practical application of moral values in all spheres of social activity is actualized. An important task of ethics as an essential aspect of the modern educational tradition is the formation of a moral personality. Was made analysis of the historical development of morality, the history of formation and development of ethical theories, values, categories, concepts, stages of historical development of ethical thought, their relationship with the material and spiritual life of people and society. Disclosed the essence of ethical knowledge, moral principles, moral norms, life orientations is revealed, namely such knowledge plays a role in determining the direction of moral culture of a person, which is an indicator of the level of his socialization, the bearer of meanings of human existence. Updated the need to form an ethical culture, moral principles, moral norms used in national, political, environmental, economic, legal, social spheres, in the development of a culture of ethical thinking, which is able to solve the most morally difficult life problems. The ways of ethicization of education and man are determined. Thus, the tasks of ethics regarding its application in education, and hence in all spheres of human existence, are actualized.
