The respect of human dignity is the way to achieve human and fair being. The aim of the article is to make historical-philosophical analysis of the problem of human dignity as a fundamental component of human existence.The methodological basis of the study were the principle of objectivity and the principle of historicism, which are the most adequate while considering such a multidimensional phenomenon as the problem of human dignity. The methods of historical and philosophical analysis and historical reconstruction were of great importance, as well as ontological approach, which allowed the author to reveal the essence of the historical transformation of the problem of human dignity and the diversity of its historical connotations in the process of socio-historical development. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the attempts to identify the diversity of philosophical connotation of the concept of human dignity among which are: economic, socio-cultural, legal and moral-anthropological and finding out the way of their interaction. In the article it is conceptualized the dignity as a special intersubjective phenomenon and basic effect of people’s dignity, which opens the outlook of further analysis of creating human and fair society. The generally cultural tendency and the set on a valuable being seamlessly connected with its rights for saving its honor and dignity. The problems of setting and functioning of tempered system of valuable social regulators are rooted in the acknowledgment and cultivation of such fundamental influencer of people’s being as dignity. The solving of any social problem can’t be successful while violating a human dignity. Although such important horizons, significant interecsistencials of human being are still insufficiently comprehended, which greatly complicate understanding of such trends of social development and future planning. In theoretical sense a special attention is required further investigation of concrete-historical essential dimension of human dignity and peculiarities, ways of its functioning in modern globalized world, in postmodern practices, which are particularly generated by evolution of new technologies, that bring new aspects to discussing the problem of human dignity.
