Abstract
The theme of the article is the philosophical-esthetical reconstruction of understanding of the phenomenon of horrible in the tales of Korney Chukovsky. There are several types of the anti-phobia discourses – the author’s philosophic subtexts that concern the real nature of the horrible as well as the «holiday practices» with the element of profanization of the sacred history of fighting evil. We show the meaning of Chukovsky’s irony aimed at the pseudo-anti-phobia totalitarian practices. We also show the double binary opposition of the author’s and totalitarian anti-phobia practices both in the literary tale and in the discussion of Chukovsky and the representatives of Soviet pedology. The importance of the poet’s spiritual intuition in revealing the dynamics of the horrible on the material of the totalitarian practices is underlined.
