Abstract

The author of the article considers personalistic conception of cosmology of Czeslaw Bartnik, a Polish theologian, philosopher and Catholic priest. His theologian-philosophic doctrine goes about disclosure of a personality principle as the basis of existence of the Universe. The central plank of Bartnik’s personalistic cosmology is relatio – relationships between personalities of the Trinitarian character, between an object and subject, substance and subsistence, matter and spirit, thing and person, that blend the world into a unified whole based on love. Considering Christian doctrine on Cosmology from the Personalism perspective, the Polish theologian asserts that the World, created by the Trinitarian love of God, somehow takes part in the Trinitarian relationship between the Persons within God, following and communing with the universal union of existence in God. This centers around the reflection of the Trinitarian interrelation, where material existence is a token of God’s wisdom, and a man is molded after the image and likeness of the Person of God. They each appear authentic in their own subsistence and existence, with their objectiveness or subjectivity and perfection of existence to greater or lesser extent. According to Czeslaw Bartnik, precisely interpersonal relationships of the Trinitarian nature determine wholesomeness of the Universe as an integrated system, the process of prioritization, sequence and merging of structures and functions of which at every stage of its conformation, is identified not by material bonds, but by the degree of unification with the Personality of God.
